Rekar was one of the Romulans who seized the experimental USS Prometheus in the Alpha Quadrant.
Rekar was a Romulan who took part in the capture of USS Prometheus, a prototype Starfleet warship, killing its crew in order to deliver the vessel to the Romulan Star Empire.
In Message in a Bottle, Rekar was aboard Prometheus when Voyager's Doctor arrived through an alien relay network. Neither Rekar nor his comrades regarded the ship's holograms as a threat, and the Doctor and the EMH Mark II used that mistake to flood the ship with anesthetic gas and take control before Romulan reinforcements could claim it.
