Rain Robinson was a young astronomer at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles searching for extraterrestrial signals. Played by Sarah Silverman, she detected Voyager orbiting Earth in 1996 and became a target of Henry Starling, who wanted to silence anyone who knew about the ship.
In Future's End, Tom Paris and Tuvok protected her and recruited her help in stopping Starling. She and Paris shared a mutual attraction through their fondness for old science fiction, and after the crisis she was left with her memories of the experience.
