A woman of overpopulated Gideon who volunteers to be infected with a disease from Kirk's blood so her people can die in The Mark of Gideon.
Odona is the daughter of Hodin, leader of the planet Gideon, which suffers from extreme overpopulation because its people are free of disease and live very long lives. In The Mark of Gideon she meets Kirk aboard what he thinks is an empty Enterprise, but is a replica on Gideon.
The Gideonites want the disease vegan choriomeningitis, which Kirk carries in his blood, to bring death to their world. Odona volunteers to be infected and falls ill. Kirk and the Enterprise crew save her life, and she returns to her people as a source of the disease. She was played by Sharon Acker.
