Nevette is a Mat'aaran in A Case of Chiaroscuro who is both a prominent collaborator with the Klingon occupation and the leader of a sophisticated resistance organization. When Una Chin-Riley, Joseph M'Benga and Nyota Uhura are forced to hide on Mat'aar XII, Una's fortuitous resemblance lets her assume Nevette's role.
While Uhura is interrogated by the Klingon commander Kor, Una carries out Nevette's existing plan against M'Benga's advice. The scheme disrupts the Klingons and allows some Mat'aarans to escape the planet.
