Maury Ginsberg was a twentieth-century human whose life had been changed by a chance encounter with the Q known as Quinn. Quinn had given him a ride in a jeep, which brought him to the Woodstock festival, where he got the sound system working and met his future wife.
In Death Wish, Q summoned Ginsberg as a witness during the asylum hearing Janeway held aboard Voyager to decide whether Quinn should be allowed to end his immortal existence. His cheerful testimony was meant to show that Quinn's interference had shaped human history in ways large and small.
