The suspicious Prytt minister who imprisoned Picard and Crusher and implanted telepathic devices in them.
Lorin is a minister of the Prytt, the isolationist society on Kesprytt III that shuns contact with outsiders. When Picard and Crusher's transport is diverted into a Prytt prison, he suspects them of conspiring with the rival Kes.
In Attached, Lorin has devices implanted in the officers' necks that are meant to reveal their thoughts, linking their minds as they flee. He resists Riker's appeals for their release, and the mistrust between Kes and Prytt complicates every attempt at a solution.
