Vedek Winn offers him sanctuary in exchange for information about the massacre of forty-three resistance fighters, and Kubus claims Vedek Bareil gave away their location. Bareil accepts the blame and withdraws from the election for kai, but Kira learns he is covering for Kai Opaka.
