Veteran Klingon advocate who defended Jonathan Archer before a tribunal in 2153 and lamented the decline of Klingon justice.
Kolos was an aging advocate assigned to defend Jonathan Archer when the captain was tried by a Klingon tribunal for aiding rebels and attacking a Klingon ship. Played by J. G. Hertzler, he initially offered Archer only a plea arrangement, believing the outcome was decided.
Archer insisted on a real defense, and Kolos admitted that the courts had once been about law and honor before the warrior mindset turned trials into mere contests to be won. Rekindling his own sense of justice, Kolos argued forcefully for his client. Archer escaped execution but was sentenced to the penal colony of Rura Penthe, from which Enterprise later rescued him.
