Mother of Kira Nerys who, during the occupation of Bajor, was taken to Terok Nor as a comfort woman and became Gul Dukat's mistress.
Kira Meru is the mother of Kira Nerys. During the occupation of Bajor she was taken with other Bajoran women from a refugee camp to serve as a comfort woman for Cardassian officers aboard Terok Nor, where she became the mistress of Gul Dukat. Her daughter grew up believing she had died in the camp.
In Wrongs Darker Than Death or Night, Dukat taunts Kira with the truth, and she travels back in time to see for herself. Meru, she learns, accepted the arrangement to secure food and medicine for her family. Kira joins a resistance plot to bomb Dukat's quarters, but in the end she saves her mother's life.
