Renowned and egotistical terraformer who sacrificed himself to reignite a dying star and free his unhappy wife Nidell.
Gideon Seyetik is a celebrated and boastful terraformer who visits Deep Space Nine on his way to the project he regards as his masterpiece: reigniting a dying star so that its planets can support life. He invites the station's senior staff to dinner aboard the USS Prometheus and introduces his wife Nidell, who looks exactly like Fenna, a mysterious woman Benjamin Sisko has fallen for.
In Second Sight, Fenna proves to be a telepathic projection of the unhappy Nidell, whose people mate for life. Seyetik pilots the fuel vessel into the star himself, completing his work and setting Nidell free. He was played by Richard Kiley.
