Ferris is a Galactic High Commissioner travelling aboard the Enterprise in The Galileo Seven. The ship is carrying medical supplies to Makus III for transfer to the plague-stricken New Paris colonies, and Ferris insists that the delivery schedule must be met.
When the Galileo disappears into Murasaki 312, Ferris repeatedly reminds Kirk of the deadline and finally invokes his authority to order the search abandoned. His pressure gives the episode its ticking clock, and Kirk delays departure as long as he can. Ferris was played by John Crawford.
