The scientist who invented the transporter and uses Enterprise in a secret attempt to recover his lost son.
Emory Erickson is the inventor of the transporter and an old friend of the Archer family. In Daedalus he and his daughter Danica come aboard Enterprise to test a new sub-quantum transporter in the Barrens, a region empty of starlight.
The test is a cover. Fifteen years earlier, Erickson's son Quinn was lost in an early transporter experiment, and Erickson has modified Enterprise to pull him back. His obsession costs the life of a crewman, Burrows, and Archer is forced to confront an old friend who has misled him. Erickson was played by Bill Cobbs.
