A Starfleet investigator who inspected the Enterprise-D and was later revealed as the host of the parasites' mother creature.
Lieutenant Commander Dexter Remmick worked for the Starfleet Inspector General. In Coming of Age, Admiral Quinn sent him to the Enterprise-D, where he questioned the crew about every aspect of Picard's command. He found nothing wrong and even asked to serve aboard the ship.
In Conspiracy, Picard and Riker uncovered parasites controlling senior officers at Starfleet Headquarters, and they found that Remmick housed the mother creature controlling them. Picard and Riker destroyed him with their phasers, killing the creature and freeing the others.
