Vidiian doctor whose consciousness the Doctor transferred into a holographic body, becoming his first love.
Danara Pel was a Vidiian hematologist afflicted by the phage, the disease that consumed her species. Rescued in critical condition in Lifesigns, she was given a temporary holographic body by the Doctor, who stored her neural patterns while he repaired her failing physical form. Freed of the phage's effects in her new body, she and the Doctor fell in love.
Danara was eventually persuaded to return to her own body, and she left with the Doctor's affection. Played by Susan Diol, she was one of the few Vidiians portrayed sympathetically.
