Lethean who attacked Bashir with a telepathic assault that trapped the doctor inside his own mind.
Altovar is a Lethean who comes to Deep Space Nine with Quark in Distant Voices looking to buy a restricted substance, bio-mimetic gel. Bashir refuses, and later finds Altovar stealing gel from the infirmary.
Altovar's telepathic attack leaves Bashir in a coma, where he experiences a dark station and rapid aging while Altovar hunts the aspects of his mind represented by the crew, including a figure posing as Garak. Bashir uncovers the deception and destroys Altovar's presence before waking.
