A species with a reputation as great military strategists, represented by Sirna Kolrami aboard the Enterprise-D.
The Zakdorn are a humanoid species with heavy, ridged cheeks, renowned throughout the galaxy as the greatest strategists. Their reputation is so strong that no one has seriously tested it in thousands of years.
In the Next Generation episode Peak Performance, the Zakdorn strategist Sirna Kolrami comes aboard the Enterprise-D to oversee a war game between the Enterprise and the old USS Hathaway, commanded by Riker. Kolrami is arrogant and dismissive of Riker. The exercise is interrupted by a Ferengi attack, and Riker's crew uses a clever bluff to save both ships.
Data, shaken after losing a game of Strategema to Kolrami, challenges him again and plays only for a draw, holding off a win for so long that Kolrami gives up in frustration. Another Zakdorn, the quartermaster Klim Dokachin, appears in Unification, managing a vast Starfleet surplus depot.
