A feline humanoid species from Cait, seen in Starfleet service, including the Animated Series navigator M'Ress.
Caitians are a feline humanoid species, with fur, manes, tails and cat-like faces. Their home planet is Cait, a member of the Federation, and Caitians serve in Starfleet in many roles.
The best known Caitian is Lieutenant M'Ress, a communications officer on Kirk's Enterprise in the animated series, who often worked alongside Lieutenant Uhura on the bridge. A Caitian officer can also be seen at Starfleet Command in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.
Caitians later appear in the newer series. In Lower Decks, the Cerritos's chief medical officer, Doctor T'Ana, is a Caitian, which shows how widely the species has spread through Starfleet and the Federation.
