The USS Yosemite was an Oberth-class science vessel that was studying a plasma streamer in 2369. The Enterprise-D found the ship disabled and its crew missing after a transporter accident, and an away team that included Reginald Barclay beamed aboard to investigate.
In Realm of Fear, Barclay, who had a deep fear of transporters, saw strange creatures inside the beam during transport. His colleagues doubted him at first, but the creatures were the missing crew of the Yosemite, trapped in the matter stream, and Barclay and Miles O'Brien were able to bring them safely out.
