USS Columbia (NX-02)

NX-class starship

Earth Starfleet's second NX-class starship, a sister ship to Enterprise commanded by Captain Erika Hernandez.

The Columbia was Earth Starfleet's second NX-class starship, a sister ship to Enterprise that launched in 2154 after the Xindi crisis. It was commanded by Captain Erika Hernandez, a longtime friend of Jonathan Archer.
Trip Tucker transferred to the Columbia as chief engineer to put some distance between himself and T'Pol, helping to finish its final preparations. During the crisis over the Klingon augment virus, Columbia joined Enterprise in pursuit, and when Enterprise's warp engines were sabotaged, the two ships matched speed so Tucker could cross back over at warp to help save the ship.
After the crisis, Tucker returned to Enterprise for good. Columbia proved that the NX design could be produced in numbers, ending Enterprise's time as Earth's only deep-space warp-five vessel.
