Bringloid V was the home of the Bringloidi, a human colony forced to evacuate when the planet's star unleashed deadly solar flares.
Bringloid V was settled by the Bringloidi, a group of humans who came from Earth on the SS Mariposa and chose a simple farming way of life. In Up the Long Ladder an automated distress call brought the Enterprise to the planet, which was threatened by powerful solar flares.
The crew evacuated the colonists, along with their animals and belongings, to the ship. The Bringloidi did not return home. Instead they were taken to the nearby Mariposa colony, where they would join the clone society there to create a new, viable population.
