American actress and comedian who played Guinan, the El-Aurian host of the Enterprise-D's Ten Forward lounge, in The Next Generation, two films and Star Trek: Picard.
Whoopi Goldberg, an American actress and comedian born in 1955, played Guinan, the long-lived El-Aurian who runs the Enterprise-D's Ten Forward lounge, in a recurring role beginning with the second season of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Guinan's quiet insight shaped episodes such as The Measure of a Man and Yesterday's Enterprise, and the Time's Arrow two-parter revealed her past on nineteenth-century Earth.
She reprised the role in Star Trek Generations and Star Trek: Nemesis and returned in the second season of Star Trek: Picard. One of the few performers to have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony, she is also known for The Color Purple, Ghost and as a co-host of The View.
