American actress and former model who played the joined Trill science officer Jadzia Dax for Deep Space Nine's first six seasons.
Terry Farrell is an American actress, born in 1963, who began her career as a fashion model before turning to acting in the 1980s. She was cast in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine shortly after an unsuccessful American version of Red Dwarf in which she had been involved.
As Jadzia Dax, a young Trill scientist carrying the centuries-old Dax symbiont, Farrell played a character who blended youthful energy with the memories of several previous lifetimes, including those of Curzon Dax, Benjamin Sisko's old mentor. Over six seasons Jadzia grew into one of the show's most distinctive figures, embracing Klingon culture and eventually marrying Worf. Farrell left at the end of the sixth season, and the Dax symbiont passed to Ezri Dax.
After Deep Space Nine, Farrell spent four years as Reggie Kostas on the sitcom Becker opposite Ted Danson. Her film work includes Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth.
