Canadian actress who joined Deep Space Nine for its seventh and final season as Ezri Dax, the newest host of the Dax symbiont.
Nicole de Boer is a Canadian actress, born in 1970, who came to wide attention in the cult science fiction film Cube before joining the main cast of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine for its final season.
As Ezri Dax, de Boer played a young Starfleet counselor who unexpectedly received the Dax symbiont after the death of Jadzia Dax. The role required her to establish a new character amid an established ensemble, and Ezri's uncertainty about her inherited memories, along with her complicated relationships with Worf and Julian Bashir, gave her a distinct place in the series' closing arc from 1998 to 1999.
After Deep Space Nine, de Boer starred as Sarah Bannerman on The Dead Zone from 2002 to 2007, and later had a recurring role on the Canadian crime drama Private Eyes.
