Kerrice Brooks is an American actor and dancer who gained international recognition through Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.
She plays SAM, short for Series Acclimation Mil, the first Kasqian to attend Starfleet Academy. Kasqians are a kind of hologram, and SAM is only weeks old despite being programmed as a young adult, giving her a wide-eyed view of the galaxy. The producers reshaped the character to fit Brooks's approach after she was cast.
