American actor who played the shy, holodeck-prone engineer Reginald Barclay on The Next Generation, Voyager and in Star Trek: First Contact.
Dwight Schultz, an American actor born in 1947, played Lieutenant Reginald Barclay, the anxious Enterprise-D engineer who retreats into holodeck fantasies, introduced in Hollow Pursuits. Barclay returned in episodes including The Nth Degree, in which an alien probe vastly expands his intellect, and Ship in a Bottle, and Schultz reprised the role in Star Trek: First Contact.
He later made Barclay a recurring figure on Star Trek: Voyager, where the engineer helped Starfleet re-establish contact with the stranded ship. Outside Star Trek, Schultz is best known as H.M. Murdock on The A-Team and for his voice work.
