The military high command that ruled the Cardassian Union for much of the 24th century.
Central Command is the leadership of the Cardassian military and, for much of the 24th century, the true government of the Cardassian Union. Its officers set the policy of expansion and directed the occupation of Bajor, while answering, at least in principle, to the civilian Detapa Council.
Central Command lost power in 2372 when a civilian movement placed the Detapa Council in control, but after Cardassia joined the Dominion in 2373 military rule returned under Gul Dukat and later Legate Damar. Its leaders often clashed with the Obsidian Order.
