Voyager's Return to Earth

2378

USS Voyager returned home after seven years.

In 2378 the USS Voyager had been stranded in the Delta Quadrant for about seven years, trying to make its way home. Admiral Janeway, a future version of the captain, traveled back in time to bring Voyager home sooner, using technology she had acquired over the years.
She led the crew through a plan to destroy a Borg transwarp hub, a network that the Borg used to travel quickly across the galaxy. She sacrificed herself to ensure the plan worked, and Captain Janeway took the ship through a Borg conduit while the hub was destroyed behind them. The crew emerged from the conduit in the Alpha Quadrant, close to Earth.
Voyager's return was celebrated, and the crew was welcomed home as heroes. The journey had changed them all: Seven of Nine had returned to humanity, Chakotay and Seven were close, Tuvok and the others had made lasting bonds, and some, like Tom Paris and B'Elanna Torres, had started families. The story of Voyager's return later featured in the lives of the crew in Prodigy and Picard.
