Q appears to help a young intern with her powers.
Amanda Rogers, a young intern aboard the Enterprise, begins showing remarkable abilities. Q arrives and reveals that she is the child of two Q who lived on Earth as humans, and that the Continuum sent him to judge whether she is truly Q.
If she cannot control her powers or refuses to join the Continuum, Q is to end her life. Picard objects strongly. Amanda learns that her parents were killed by the Continuum for refusing to stop using their powers, and she tries to live without them. After using them to save a planet's people from disaster, she admits she cannot give them up and leaves with Q.
