Yanar was a young woman from Atlec whose pregnancy led her father to blame Thadiun Okona, though her child belonged to Benzan of Straleb.
Yanar was the daughter of Debin, a leader from the planet Atlec, in The Outrageous Okona. When she became pregnant, her father accused the rogue Thadiun Okona of being the father and demanded that Okona marry her, while Straleb's Kushell separately demanded Okona for stealing a state treasure.
The truth was that Okona had been carrying messages between Yanar and Benzan, the son of Kushell, who were in love. Benzan was the father of her child and had taken the Jewel of Thesia as a gift for her. The pair agreed to marry, settling the dispute. Rosalind Ingledew played her.
