Wixiban was an old Talaxian friend of Neelix whose debts to drug dealers drew Neelix into crime at the edge of the Nekrit Expanse.
Wixiban, known to his friends as Wix, was a Talaxian Neelix had known in his younger, rougher days. When Voyager docked at a station on the border of the Nekrit Expanse, the two old companions reunited.
In Fair Trade, Wixiban drew Neelix into a deal supposedly involving medical supplies that was actually a narcotics exchange. When the dealer tried to kill them, Wixiban shot him with a Voyager phaser. He owed money to the Kolaati and pressed Neelix to steal warp plasma for them, but Neelix chose honesty, and the two confessed and helped expose the dealers.
