The oldest of the children manipulated by the Gorgan into taking control of the Enterprise in And the Children Shall Lead.
Tommy Starnes is the son of Professor Starnes, leader of a scientific expedition to Triacus. In And the Children Shall Lead, the Enterprise finds all the adults dead by suicide, while the children play happily, apparently unaware of what has happened.
Tommy and the other children are under the influence of the Gorgan, an evil entity that wants to spread across the galaxy. He leads them in using their powers to take control of the crew. Kirk breaks the hold by showing the children their parents' graves, and Tommy and the others grieve at last. He was played by Craig Hundley, who also played Peter Kirk.
