Timothy is a boy who was traveling aboard the research ship Vico when it was destroyed near a black cluster. Data finds him trapped in the wreckage, the only survivor, and he quickly attaches himself to his rescuer.
In Hero Worship, Timothy copies Data's speech and behavior, claiming to be an android so that he does not have to feel grief. He also blames himself for the ship's destruction because he touched a console when it was breaking apart. Data helps him understand that he was not at fault, and Timothy begins to face his loss.
