The leader of the women of the Taurean system who lure starship crews with a signal and drain the men's life force in The Lorelei Signal.
Theela leads a community of beautiful women living on a planet in the Taurean system. In The Lorelei Signal, they send out a compelling musical signal that draws passing ships, as they have done every 27 years, and welcome the Enterprise's landing party with entertainment.
The women place headbands on the men that drain their life energy, causing them to age rapidly while the women stay young. Uhura leads an all-female rescue party, and Theela explains that the planet left her people unable to survive without this energy. The Enterprise helps relocate them so they can live normal lives.
