An anaphasic being who posed as a ghost and attached himself to the women of the Howard family, finally targeting Beverly Crusher.
Ronin presented himself as a spirit living in a candle that had been passed down through generations of the Howard family, and he claimed to have been the companion of each of the women in turn. In Sub Rosa, after Felisa Howard's death, he turned his attention to Beverly Crusher and tried to make her stay on Caldos.
Beverly found he was an anaphasic energy life form that depended on a living host. When he took over the body of her grandmother and attacked her friends, she destroyed him with a phaser.
