An Enterprise crewman whose wedding to Angela Martine is interrupted by the Romulan attack and who dies in the battle that follows.
Robert Tomlinson is a phaser crewman aboard the Enterprise and the fiancé of Angela Martine. In Balance of Terror, the couple's wedding in the ship's chapel, with Kirk officiating, is cut short by news that a Romulan vessel has crossed the Neutral Zone.
Tomlinson returns to his post in the phaser room for the cat-and-mouse fight with the Romulan Bird-of-Prey. When the Romulan ship's weapon strikes and coolant leaks, he is killed, the only crew death in the encounter. His loss gives the battle its human cost.
