Bajoran scientist who studied the young shapeshifter Odo during the occupation and remained a difficult father figure in his life.
Mora Pol is the Bajoran scientist assigned to study Odo at the Bajoran Center for Science during the Cardassian occupation. Under pressure from the Cardassians to produce answers, and slow to realise that the strange substance in his laboratory was sentient, he subjected Odo to painful experiments. When Odo learned to take humanoid form, he copied Mora's hairstyle.
Odo eventually left the institute and resented his former mentor for years. In The Alternate, Mora comes to Deep Space Nine to take Odo on an expedition to a Gamma Quadrant world where traces of life resembling Odo have been found, and their old tensions resurface.
In The Begotten, Mora arrives to help Odo raise an infant Changeling. His demanding methods clash with Odo's patience, but Odo comes to understand the position his mentor once faced, and the two reconcile. He was played by James Sloyan.
