Liko was a Mintakan villager who glimpsed Federation technology and came to worship Picard as a god who could raise the dead.
Liko was a member of the proto-Vulcan Mintakan people of Mintaka III in Who Watches the Watchers. He stumbled on a hidden Federation observation post and was badly injured falling from a cliff, and Dr. Crusher treated him aboard the Enterprise. Waking briefly, he saw Picard giving orders and took him for a god.
Liko had lost his wife, and he hoped the Picard could bring her back. His belief spread through the village and threatened to revive religion and superstition among his people. To prove he was mortal, Picard let Liko shoot him with an arrow, and Liko finally accepted the truth. Ray Wise played him.
