A Malcorian hospital worker who helped the captured Riker in exchange for a romantic encounter with an alien.
Lanel works at the Malcorian hospital where Riker is taken after he is injured while disguised as one of the planet's people. Unlike many of her compatriots she is thrilled rather than frightened by the idea of beings from other worlds.
In First Contact, Lanel offers to help Riker escape if he will make love with her, a long-held wish of hers. Riker reluctantly agrees, but the escape attempt fails when he is spotted and beaten by guards. She was played by Bebe Neuwirth.
