An Enterprise psychiatrist who accompanied Kirk to the Tantalus V penal colony and helped him escape the neural neutraliser.
Helen Noel is a ship's psychiatrist who had met Kirk at a Christmas party some time before. She accompanies him to the penal colony on Tantalus V to investigate Tristan Adams after the escape of Simon van Gelder.
When Adams uses the neural neutraliser on Kirk, implanting the false belief that he loves Noel, she crawls through a ventilation duct and shuts down the colony's power, allowing Spock and a security team to beam down. She was played by Marianna Hill.
