Cardassian scientist who helped build a subspace relay through the wormhole and mistook O'Brien's irritation for romantic interest.
Gilora Rejal is one of the Cardassian scientists working on a communications relay through the Bajoran wormhole in Destiny. She works alongside Miles O'Brien on the station, and because of Cardassian courtship customs she misreads his hostility toward her as a romantic overture.
When the Defiant's modified phasers fail to vaporize a comet heading for the wormhole, Gilora accuses her colleague Dejar of sabotage, and the charge proves true. The project succeeds anyway when silithium from the comet completes the link.
