The United States Army general in charge of the 1947 base where the crashed Ferengi are held and questioned.
General Denning commands the army base near Roswell, New Mexico, where Quark, Rom and Nog are taken after their shuttle crashes in July 1947 in Little Green Men. He and his officers assume the strange visitors are Martians and treat them as a possible advance force for an invasion.
Denning oversees the effort to learn what the aliens want while Quark, once the translators work again, tries to sell him advanced technology. The Ferengi eventually escape with help from Professor Carlson and Nurse Garland. Denning was played by Charles Napier.
