Gabriel Hwang is Raffi Musiker's adult son, living on Freecloud, who rejects her attempt at reconciliation after years of estrangement.
Gabriel Hwang, often called Gabe, is the son of Raffi Musiker. He grew up resenting his mother, whose obsession with the conspiracy behind the attack on Mars had pulled her away from her family for years. By the time of Picard's quest he has built a life of his own on Freecloud, apart from her.
In Stardust City Rag, Raffi uses the stop on Freecloud to seek Gabriel out and try to reconnect with him. He refuses to let her back into his life. The rejection devastates Raffi and sends her into the drunken spiral seen in The Impossible Box, which nearly derails the mission to board the Artifact.
