An upperclassman who bullied James Kirk at Starfleet Academy and is recreated on the Shore Leave planet, where Kirk finally beats him.
Finnegan was an upperclassman at Starfleet Academy who delighted in tormenting the young James T. Kirk with practical jokes. Kirk never managed to get the better of him and still remembers him years later.
In Shore Leave, the planet's machinery reads Kirk's memories and produces Finnegan, grinning and as provoking as ever. He taunts Kirk and leads him into a long fistfight, which Kirk eventually wins, finally settling the old score. Once the planet's purpose is understood, Kirk admits he enjoyed it. Finnegan was played by Bruce Mars.
