A tardigrade searching for a place to lay her eggs, who crossed paths with the USS Enterprise in an animated Short Trek.
Ephraim is the tardigrade at the heart of the animated Short Trek Ephraim & Dot. Searching the stars for a safe place to lay her eggs, she settles aboard the USS Enterprise during the era of James T. Kirk, where a repair drone named Dot attacks her as an intruder.
When the Enterprise self-destructs, Dot helps save Ephraim's eggs. After the eggs hatch, the tardigrade and the drone travel through space together with the babies. The short is narrated by Kirk Thatcher and set against archival audio from the original films.
