A junior medical officer aboard the Enterprise who was possessed by a Vezda and killed by Pelia.
Dana Gamble was a medical ensign who joined the Enterprise when Christine Chapel left for her fellowship. He was played by Chris Myers. Gamble joined an archaeological expedition led by Chapel and Roger Korby, where a glowing orb exploded in his face and destroyed his eyes.
Scans showed him to be brain-dead despite appearing conscious, because an extradimensional Vezda had taken over his body. Marie Batel recognized the parasite, and after Gamble killed a guard and took Montgomery Scott, Sam Kirk and Pelia hostage, Pelia killed him and Scott trapped the Vezda in the transporter buffer.
