A Starfleet captain loyal to Admiral Leyton who refuses to destroy the Defiant at the climax of his attempted coup.
Benteen commands the USS Lakota in Paradise Lost and is one of the officers who follow Admiral James Leyton as he imposes martial law on Earth. Leyton sends her to intercept the Defiant, telling her the ship is crewed by Changelings, to stop evidence of his conspiracy from reaching the president.
The Lakota exchanges fire with the Defiant and is badly outmatched. When Leyton orders her to destroy the Defiant, Benteen refuses and stands down, a decision that helps bring the coup to an end. She was played by Susan Gibney.
