Benzan was the son of Kushell of Straleb and the true father of Yanar's child, which made him the centre of the Okona dispute.
Benzan was the son of Kushell, a leader from the planet Straleb, in The Outrageous Okona. His father accused the rogue Thadiun Okona of stealing the Jewel of Thesia, a Straleb state treasure, while Debin of Atlec accused Okona of fathering his daughter Yanar's child.
Benzan confessed that he was the one who had taken the jewel, which he considered his to give, intending it as a courtship gift for Yanar. He was also the father of her child, and Okona had only been their go-between. Benzan and Yanar agreed to marry. Kieran Mulroney played him.
