Bahrat was the owner and administrator of a busy space station on the border of the Nekrit Expanse, a place where traders and travelers gathered before crossing the region. Shrewd and businesslike, he drove a hard bargain with Voyager for supplies and information.
In Fair Trade, Bahrat investigated the killing of a trader and found that the weapon was a phaser from Voyager. He arrested Tom Paris and Chakotay on the strength of surveillance footage, until Neelix and Wixiban confessed and offered to help him catch the Kolaati drug dealers operating on his station.
