Anan 7 is the head of the High Council of Eminiar VII. For five hundred years his planet has fought a war with Vendikar entirely through computer simulation, with citizens marked as casualties reporting to disintegration chambers to keep the war clean and their civilization intact.
In A Taste of Armageddon, the Enterprise is ruled destroyed in a simulated attack, and Anan demands that the crew beam down to be killed. When Kirk refuses and destroys the war computers, Anan faces the prospect of a real war and is pushed into talks with Vendikar, with Ambassador Fox offering to mediate. He was played by David Opatoshu.
