Akuta is the head of the Feeders of Vaal on Gamma Trianguli VI. Small antennae behind his ears allow him to receive Vaal's instructions, making him the link between the machine and its people.
In The Apple, Akuta first greets the landing party peacefully, but when Vaal decides the strangers are dangerous, he orders his people to kill them. After the Enterprise destroys Vaal, Akuta and his people face an uncertain future without their god. He was played by Keith Andes.
